Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: May 15, 2024

Welcome to ScoutAbout Travel. Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully before using our website or booking any travel services with us. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Our Role as a Travel Advisor

ScoutAbout Travel acts strictly as a sales agent for any airline, hotel, car-rental company, tour operator, cruise line, or other service provider named in your itinerary ("Suppliers"). We do not own, operate, manage, or control these Suppliers. Therefore, we are not responsible for any acts or omissions of such Suppliers, including their failure to provide services or adhere to their own schedules.

We are proudly an Independent Affiliate of Travel Planners International (TPI).

2. Pricing and Availability

Prices and availability quoted are not guaranteed until a deposit or full payment has been applied and a confirmation is received from the Supplier. Suppliers reserve the right to alter prices without notice due to currency fluctuations, fuel surcharges, or tariff changes.

3. Deposits and Final Payments

Most bookings require a non-refundable deposit to secure your reservation. Final payment dates are strictly enforced by our Suppliers. Failure to make final payment by the due date may result in the cancellation of your booking and loss of any prior payments.

4. Cancellations and Changes

Cancellations and changes are subject to the penalties of the Suppliers involved. In many cases, payments are strictly non-refundable or incur high penalty fees. ScoutAbout Travel reserves the right to charge a separate administrative fee for processing cancellations or complex itinerary changes.

5. Travel Documents and Requirements

It is the sole responsibility of the traveler to ensure they have the proper documentation to travel. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • A valid passport (many countries require a passport to be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of your return).
  • Required visas or entry permits.
  • Health documents, vaccinations, or medical clearances.

ScoutAbout Travel is not responsible if a traveler is denied entry to a flight or country due to incorrect or missing documentation.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance. Travel insurance can protect your financial investment against supplier default, trip cancellation or interruption, medical emergencies, lost baggage, and severe weather. If you decline travel insurance, you assume all financial risk associated with your travel plans.

7. Limitation of Liability

ScoutAbout Travel, its owners, and its host agency (TPI) shall not be liable for any personal injury, property damage, loss, delay, or inconvenience caused by the actions, omissions, or negligence of any Supplier or by any event beyond our reasonable control (including, but not limited to, weather, strikes, acts of God, war, or government actions).

8. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any legal action arising out of your use of our services shall be filed exclusively in the courts located in Snohomish County, Washington.
